Santa Barbara Magazine
The magazine stopped paying me and I had to take them to small claims court. I rented a corner of what had been Scott's art studio in the same building with California Press, whose bread-and-butter publication was Uniques, a glossy magazine of pictures of fine homes for sale.
SB Mag was the afterthought 'zine. We rarely were able to publish three times a year. I found clients for my copywriting skills and shared the office with art directors Mark Oliver and John Alexander with my typewriter on a drawing table. |
